Last week, I spent the day in Manhattan with my
grandkids. First, we went to The American
Girl Store, then the Nintendo Store. We later
went to the Central Park Zoo. We decided
to take the subway there because we were too
tired to walk (Okay! I was too tired!)
This painting, believe it or not, was pretty
complicated for me.. I almost gave up
on it , but now I'm glad that I finished it.

Oh yes it looks complicated. Such works requires one just to keep pushing and not give up. And thank God that you did not. It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteGreat painting Hilda. Yes, it does look complicated with the perspective of the city behind. Lots of detail, but beautifully done. Good thing you stuck with it. Sounds like a great day with the grandkids!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome piece! I love that the focus is on that subway entrance. How I adore those light posts too!

Hmmmm! my worst nightmare I think ... all those windows and straight lines etc. You've done a brilliant job here - Its not one that I'd like to tackle :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the perspective, Hilda. I like that all the background is in grays, and the focal point is in color. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be very difficult to paint with all the vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines. Great job!

ReplyDeleteHi Hilda,
ReplyDeleteWow! I think this had to be a very hard painting with the perspective, the windows, and the lines going every which way. Well done, and good for you for sticking with it.
