Huntington, New York

Coastal Designs is the name of
the landscape company that had
this antique truck based in the
front of their property. I took
my reference picture of this
truck looking through the white
arbors. Yes, I can't seem to get
enough of these old trucks ..but
this time I only had to travel
about 1/2 hour from my home...

    I think old cars have their own individual personalities, and the truck in your painting just shines. I love how you lead the viewer's eye in through the arbor and then to that gorgeously rendered truck. The textures and colors - magnificent!

    Old trucks have such character and you captured this one beautifully. I am in love with your hydrangeas. You should definitely do more flowers. Great job! I also caught up with your oil (you do oil?!) and the portraits. All really nice work, Hilda. I love to come here because you make me smile with your rendering of happy subjects.

    Hilda, this is such a wonderful and welcoming piece! Your composition with the arches and the flowers all giving full attention to the truck is wonderful. The pastel medium suits this piece so well, too, does, it? It seems one can almost feel the rust on the truck!
