Dwight

While I was at a barbecue recently, I saw a man who I just knew I had to paint. I finally mustered up the courage to ask this stranger if I could take a photo of him..and thankfully he obliged. I am really glad that I asked him and I am happy with the results.

  4. Great subject. You have done a terrific job, I be the beard got hairy, ha! It is so dramatic and really catches your eye the moment you see it. Terrific! And being a military wife I love the inclusion of the Army seal on his hat, adds to his story:)

  8. Very strong work, Hilda. I think you chose the right lighting and angle to work from in your reference photo. You've done a lovely job with all the features and details without overdoing it. Of all your recent paintings, this is my favorite.

  16. Thank you Dean. I appreciate your comment. I used the wrong side of Canson Mi-Teintes paper which is the smoother side..it really gives you wonderful smooth skin.
