I don't think there's a more
beautiful place...a more spiritual
place than when I visited the
Grand Canyon. What I saw was
layer upon layer of these beautifully
colored rock...almost like a staircase
going down into this amazing valley.
If you're in the right spot you can
see the Colorado River that snakes
around the valley.

Thank you for visiting my blog! It looks like we share a love for some of the same beautiful places. Your pastels are lovely...vey realistic! I read your bio and laughed to see that you are from East Rockaway. I lived in Lynbrook on Atlantic Ave just down from St. Raymond's. I didn't realize that they had an Art Club as part of the Parish Social Ministry. They must have started it after I moved to Suffolk when I retired. I am going to list your blog under my links so I can come back and visit. (I typed this once and seem to have lost it. I hope it doesn't come out as a duplicate post.)

ReplyDeleteCAROL...thank you for your wonderful comment! The Grand Canyon is one of my favorite places as well. In fact, I would love to go again to see other sections of it...you can never see all of it.! My husband wanted to go on the mule to the bottom! I told him he would have to go alone...LOL

ReplyDeleteBeautiful color and feeling. I stayed at the El Tovar Lodge on the canyons rim. It was so amazing seeing the canyon in the day, at sunset, and then at sunrise. You really see what light can do to color, value, and even shape at the canyon.

ReplyDeleteReally beautiful layers of colors in the sides of the canyon, and beautiful shadows. I like the small shrubs and flowers in the foreground. It frames it beautifully.
