Don't you just love the old vintage
photos that we find, and have a need
to paint? I found a photo of my cousin
Millie when she was a little girl. In the
1940's and early 50's wearing these
Navy outfits was often seen on young
girls and boys. Maybe some of you have
even worn them?

ReplyDeleteOh, Hilda,
ReplyDeleteSoooo lovely work that touches my heart. Believe or not, navy outfits are often Japanese junior high school uniforms.

Thank you so much CRYSTAL. I was going for the sepia look then changed my mind since I wanted a bit of color.
Beautiful job, again your colors are wonderful! I always wore western, but do remember seeing these sailor clothes on others. I always wanted one of the white sailor caps...
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I was born in the 1944.
ReplyDeleteLove your nostalgic moment. It certainly brings back memories. The lovely ringlets in the hair.
My Mum used to wrap my hair in rags each night to make ringlets.
Beautiful work.
Es un magnífico retrato y recuerdo cuando hice la primera Comunión llevando un traje de marinero. También mi esposa iba al colegio con ese traje. Tiene fotos así.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great portrait and I remembered when I took my first communion wearing a Navy outfit. Also, my wife attended school every day with that suit. She has pictures that way.
