Days of work OVER

Heading home to New York after
hiking in Blackwater Falls, W. V.,
we saw this great antique truck just
waiting patiently for us to take a
picture. I didn't see it at first - my
husband saw a glimpse of the rusty
old Ford pick up truck and knew I
would want a picture of it. At one
time it must have been used by a
service station since there was some
writing still left on the door..

    I am laughing, Hilda............because my hubby can spot an old wreck up a hill, behind a builing, covered with weeds and still see where he is driving. Totally amazes me. Sounds like your hubby can do the same! I love the painting. Like Sue, I often see these things when we don't have the camera with us. I keep saying I need to change to a camera phone. Hmmm, maybe that's tomorrows thing to do. Wonderful one, Hilda.

    thank you CAROL. Yes, my husband does have an eagle eye most of the time! This one was definitely his find. I couldn't see it since it was up on a hill.

    Love this new one Mom! You have definitely groomed Dad to see things with an artful eye! Treasures can be found in so many forms, even hidden beneath the weeds...and since you are NEVER without a camera, I love that you NEVER miss an opportunity to capture them!

    What a fantastic image to paint, and such a beautifully realized piece! So much history, and beauty in these abandoned relics. The soft misty atmosphere you captured, adds to the mystery of the piece and gives it a slightly haunting effect. Well done Hilda! Thanks for visiting. :-)

    Me parce realmente genial. Creo que es una de las mejores pinturas que he visto nunca sobre coches abadonados. Ignoro cual es la razón por la que hay tantos pintores amantes de coches abandonados en Estados Unidos. Para mi es un motivo muy divertido.

    It looks me really wonderful. I think is one of better paintings about old abandoned cars, I ever have seen. I don't know which is the reason there are so many painters lovers of old cars in USA. For me, it's a very amusing motive.
