One of many interesting narrow streets in Tuscany, Italy which always caught my eye, with its typical old lanterns and beautiful flowers that cascade from the windows.
Hi Hilda, came by to check out your blog. Your pastels are wonderful. I do not have the patience for that medium. I love the "Moonlight Fairy" you did a while ago. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Excellent!, I like the quiet of the street just before dusk when the lanterns are lit. A very successful painting. Congratulations! Thanks for visiting my blog.
This is a lovely piece, Hilda. I especially like the texture of the buildings that one can see when looking at the enlarged image. Is that La Carte paper?
Hilda, this scene really draws you in! You have done a wonderful job on the lighting! It has a special quality to it that is not easy to capture! Thank you for visiting my blog and for the kind comments.
My name is Hilda Muxo Klinger. My passion for art came early.I have always said that I was born with a pencil in one hand and a box of crayons in the other.I am a Bronx born New Yorker who can remember sitting at the kitchen table copying faces that appeared in the newspapers and magazines as a girl.
I am married 53 years and have two daughters and five amazing grandchildren. While I worked and raised my family in East Rockaway, I used art as a form of relaxation, painting here and there. I dabbled with several artistic mediums through the years—everything from pencil to charcoal to oil and it was only after I joined The Parish Social Ministry Art Club in East Rockaway in 2006 that I realized my true passion of pastels.
I studied under Dan Slapo and I don't think I've ever enjoyed a class more than I did with him. He taught me many different techniques in painting a portrait. Working with a live model was so different for me and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to work with this Master of Pastels...He encouraged me to join the Pastel Society and I am now an Associate Member . I am thrilled to say that I have displayed my paintings in Rockville Center Village Art Club and have received several ribbons for my work. Thank you for visiting my blog. I will continue to add my painting in the future and hope you enjoy them as I have enjoyed painting them.

ReplyDeleteHilda, I like very much this pastel, showing shadows and light. In my opinion cityscapes are very difficult. This the reason why I never paint them.
