Monument Valley, Utah

Monument Valley is about 3 1/2 hours away from Zion National Park and such an awesome place to visit.  The colors in the sky reflected on the mountains and I really enjoyed painting this with pastels.
This will be my last painting for 2015!  It's so hard to believe that 2016 is around the corner...
such a busy time in the year for all of us.  I'm working on a pastel portrait for January!   Until then,

    This is so very beautiful, Hilda! It just GLOWS, and the way the rays hit the tips and sides of the rocks takes my breath away! Truly stunning. You, too, have a wonderful Christmas! Cannot wait to see your portrait in 2016!

    You captured the magnificence of the structure and colors so well, Hilda. I felt like the size of an ant when I visited there.

    One of my 20 wishes is to do a trip to southern Utah and Grand Canyon again, the colors, light and landscape is so different than the East. Never got to this area but it sure looks awesome. Have a wonderful holiday Hilda. Will look for the first painting of 2016!! Know it will be a good one. Glad that your body is letting you work again as I sure like what you do. Best
