This is my granddaughter looking at
some birds through a telescope at the
Elizabeth A. Morton National Refuge
in Sag Harbor, NY. This is a wonderful
place to visit. They have many nesting
boxes and platforms protecting piping
plovers, roseate terns, osprey and other
shorebirds. They even close part of this
area between April 1st - August 31st in
order to minimize harm to nesting wildlife.
So if you decide to visit...don't forget your
cameras OR better yet..your paint boxes!!

Nice one, Hilda. Sounds like a wonderful place.
ReplyDeletethank you CAROL. It really is a nice place. On the trail leading to the beach, you see rabbits, and when I gave my granddaughter bird seeds she held her hand high and the birds came and took it right from her hand. Of course, that made her day.

Good Morning Hilda!... What a wonderful personal portrait you have created here!
ReplyDeleteAll of the accolades and very insightful comments are well deserved! Your work does have a Colvillesque feel to it... however...without the austere quality that his work can often emote. A high compliment though!
I would add that when one paints from the heart with love and passion... Art never fails to transmit that positive energy.
Aside from your obvious pastelling skill... perhaps that is what draws people to enjoy and respond so vigourously to your work! That's my reason for visiting... and I asm never disappointed!
Good Pastelling!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
PS THanks for your recent visit and uplifting comments left at my site! Much appreciated!
