Last pin for the day

When I went to Bethpage Restoration in Bethpage, LI,NY,  I went at the perfect time when this hatter was engrossed in forming some hats.  It was very interesting to see him in action.  He was finishing this black hat for the day....hence the title.  I hope you like him.  Painted with Rembrandt pastels and pencils for details.

This has wonderful light and the way you captured his absorption as he finds just the right spot to place the Last Pin! Extra kudos on the hand holding the brim. So wonderfully real!

  15. Hello Hilda:=) A wonderful study, you have caught the concentration on his face as he finishes the hat,...that's hard to do, and of course your ability to paint skin tones and hair is for ever present in your work. Good job!
