NEW BABY

Rescued from a Texas Shelter early this year... this 9 lb. Chiweenie stole my heart.  She came to NY with heartworm so I wasn't able to adopt her until she was heartworm free.  Introducing BAMBI.  I painted the ornament with acrylics.  Merry Christmas to all my friends here and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

  11. Bonsoir chère amie,

    Quelle adorable petite frimousse !
Bienvenue à ta petite toutoune qui va t'apporter tant de joie.
Mon Icarus serait heureux de jouer avec elle !
Tu l'as magnifiquement peint sur cette boule de Noël. Une boule précieuse et délicate. Quelle élégance !
Tu as décidément de nombreuses cordes à ton arc !

Nothing like "Loving" to make a for a much happier life. I have always found rescued pets give extra love and loyalty.
Your work is truly beautiful on this ornament. That one will be passed down the ages. Thanks for the year of inspiring posts, my friend.

    1. Thank you so much Julie. I didn’t think I would get another dog just months after Cali died. But I was feeling so incredibly sad and longed for a dog to love. When I saw Bambi for the first time I fell in love... she came from Texas and she was 2 1/2 yrs old. Shy yet you can see she wanted to love us immediately.....I’m glad you like the ornament...I enjoyed painting it...
I look forward to seeing your recent works my friend!!! Here’s to many many more years of blogging and friendship.. sending hugs...

  13. Hello Hilda!:=) Lovely idea and painting. So pleased for you, but sorry you lost Calli. We lost our sweet Mel, a year ago, but it still feels like yesterday. The hurt, the pain is constant. I doubt if we will get another as we are getting too old to care for one.

    1. Its so nice seeing your post pop up Sonjia!! Its been way to long. I'm sorry about Mel... these little fur babies are missed so much when they're gone. We're never too old to adopt.. Bambi is almost 3 so I thought that was perfect. I told my daughter if anything happened to me, she's yours! of course, she agreed.! My heart was broken when Cali left us...I never thought I would get another dog so soon after but I felt lost and decided to adopt ...especially since I was home all the time. Glad you stopped by and look forward to seeing your wonderful posts again.

  15. Your portrait of Bambi is deee-lightful, Hilda...she's very evocative of a tiny fawn! She's a fortunate wee dog, and it sounds as if she is just the right little charmer to succeed (but of course, not replace) your beloved Calli. 🥰🐾
