The reference picture was from a small collection of Vintage hats that was displayed in an Upstate New York Boutique. I love hats, especially floppy ones. Didn't you love to see the old movies where the Ladies wore hats all the time? Ahh, those were the days...!
Je partage votre goût en matière de chapeau... J'en achète très souvent... J'en possède toutes sortes... Très joli pastel... réalisé avec beaucoup de délicatesse. gros bisous.
I know that my opinion could be weird, but I prefer the hats it was wearing Humphrey Boggart, He, He,.. Good composition, Hilda, moreover I like especially the table and Its delicate drawings.
Thank you DEAN. Series are always fun, however, I'll have to see if I can go to some more boutiques on my vacation!! My husband will love that..ha..ha.!
What a fun painting Hilda! An unusual but really successful subject. Love it! I especially love the little white feathers that are floating around the hat on the right.
Beautiful hats! ... I love watching them, and I always stop to watch them in the windows. These are well made, the different textures, silk, lace, feathers, colors, are wonderful. You really captured all its glamour. Congratulations, Hilda! Great job!
Thank you CARMEN. I also, love to see hats displayed in windows. It takes me back when I was a little girl..a lot of ladies wore hats. My friend's Mom had one similar to the blue one.
Gosh, Hilda, you HAVE been busy while I've been in the garden and neglecting my computer! I love this! I always loved those romantic hats in the old movies too!
I have just been browsing through your latest work - all SO good - but I just HAD to stop here today. I love these hats - You have captured the material and the shine so well! I really like the little feathery bits too. This really is an eye-catcher :0)
My name is Hilda Muxo Klinger. My passion for art came early.I have always said that I was born with a pencil in one hand and a box of crayons in the other.I am a Bronx born New Yorker who can remember sitting at the kitchen table copying faces that appeared in the newspapers and magazines as a girl.
I am married 53 years and have two daughters and five amazing grandchildren. While I worked and raised my family in East Rockaway, I used art as a form of relaxation, painting here and there. I dabbled with several artistic mediums through the years—everything from pencil to charcoal to oil and it was only after I joined The Parish Social Ministry Art Club in East Rockaway in 2006 that I realized my true passion of pastels.
I studied under Dan Slapo and I don't think I've ever enjoyed a class more than I did with him. He taught me many different techniques in painting a portrait. Working with a live model was so different for me and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to work with this Master of Pastels...He encouraged me to join the Pastel Society and I am now an Associate Member . I am thrilled to say that I have displayed my paintings in Rockville Center Village Art Club and have received several ribbons for my work. Thank you for visiting my blog. I will continue to add my painting in the future and hope you enjoy them as I have enjoyed painting them.
I agree every freeze frame of old movies is like a vintage fashion still :) I love this pastel the colouring is so serene, beautifully drawn! Jules
