While driving on the Eastern end of Long Island, we stopped at the herb farm which is 14 acres of a photographer's or painter's "paradise" full of colorful flowers and old cottages like you see here.
Me gusta el contraste del rojo y azul. Es una magnífica obra. En español para que lo practiques. Now in English, I need to practice it. Red and blue are a pretty contrast. It's a beautiful work and well done.
Mom...I am biased that all of your work is wonderful but I REALLY love the way the door came out. The reflection in the window gives it a sense of wonder and mystery since I am finding myself trying to see what's in the reflection! Love you and your art.
Thank you CARMEN and THERESA and PADMAJA. I'm so happy that you like this painting! This place is very peaceful and wonderful place for my blogger friends that do plein air. Have a wonderful day.
Hi, Hilda, Your doors always kindly invite viewers. So charming. Amazing! This is pastel that I have no idea. You have to teach me how to do it one day! Best wishes, Sadami
Great subject in this painting. I'm always drawn to doors and quaint country settings. You've done a beautiful job. I just wish I could take that drive!
What a fabulous painting!! Ooh, that place sounds divine! Don't suppose I could talk you into joining PMP and sharing some of those yummy photos? :-)

My name is Hilda Muxo Klinger. My passion for art came early.I have always said that I was born with a pencil in one hand and a box of crayons in the other.I am a Bronx born New Yorker who can remember sitting at the kitchen table copying faces that appeared in the newspapers and magazines as a girl.
I am married 53 years and have two daughters and five amazing grandchildren. While I worked and raised my family in East Rockaway, I used art as a form of relaxation, painting here and there. I dabbled with several artistic mediums through the years—everything from pencil to charcoal to oil and it was only after I joined The Parish Social Ministry Art Club in East Rockaway in 2006 that I realized my true passion of pastels.
I studied under Dan Slapo and I don't think I've ever enjoyed a class more than I did with him. He taught me many different techniques in painting a portrait. Working with a live model was so different for me and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to work with this Master of Pastels...He encouraged me to join the Pastel Society and I am now an Associate Member . I am thrilled to say that I have displayed my paintings in Rockville Center Village Art Club and have received several ribbons for my work. Thank you for visiting my blog. I will continue to add my painting in the future and hope you enjoy them as I have enjoyed painting them.
This is beautiful Hilda! I love the texture and colors in the wood.
