Vera
Vera is a lovely lady who goes to my art class on Tuesdays. I painted this with Terry Ludwig pastels, because of the vibrancy in the colors.. Also, I wanted to tell you that I'm having surgery on my right shoulder tomorrow morning....last year it was my left shoulder!! I won't be able to type or paint for a few months but I will be visiting your blogs and enjoying everyone's beautiful work. Hopefully I will see you very soon!!!

ReplyDeleteI wish you the best with your surgery, and a speedy recovery!!
Beautiful portrait, Hilda! All the best wishes for your surgery!
ReplyDeleteShe is lovely, Hilda! Good luck with the surgery, and I wish you a speedy recovery. My hubby had rotator cuff surgery last summer and was in recovery 12 weeks. The doctor said that was fast recovery. He was doing little things using that arm in 4 weeks, so hopefully you'll be a fast healer too. Good thoughts and prayers coming your way.
ReplyDeleteYou will be in my prayers, Hilda, for a smooth surgery and a very speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteAnd your portrait is stunning - just stunning. I will miss your beautiful artwork, but am looking forward to visiting your blog soon.
Oh this is simply terrific work, Hilda. You are so good at the detail - just look at the hair and eyes for example. The dress detail is such a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteLook, get yourself fixed and painting again as soon as you can, you're needed on here!
Beautiful! Lovely combination of colors. Take care of yourself and see you back ASAP. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful portrait Hilda. Terry Ludwig pastels only recently became available in the the UK but they are horribly expensive (around 10 x the price of the ones I usually use) but I've read wonderful reports about how buttery they are ... and certainly the vibrancy in your portrait is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the surgery and wishing you a speedy recovery and return to the easel. Suex
This is really lovely. The hair, skin and eyes... beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a speedy recovery after your surgery.
Wow this turned out so well. Love the skin tones, as always, and you did a wonderful job on the hair. I haven't had the pleasure of treating myself to Terry Ludwigs, but think I am going to. Will send you some cheer ups and hope the surgery goes well with great results. Two good shoulders and who knows what you will do!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an beautiful portrait, Hilda! Vera is just exquisite, and the care and exactness you used to show her beauty is so skillful! I love the curls in her hair and the pattern in her dress! And, as always, those amazing skin tones you always demonstrate.
