Harvest Time

It's been a little over 5 weeks that I had my surgery and the therapy part of it is the toughest.!
Bringing my arm back to norm is SO difficult  but they tell me that I'm doing well so I push myself to the ultimate.  Everyday I try to paint a little more... this is what keeps me sane and relaxed..lol
This painting was so much fun because I used my palette knife only for the texture on the corn.
The reference photo was taken in Lancaster, PA at an Amish Farm.  They were harvesting  corn with horse drawn wagons.  They are such hard working people and I have so much respect for them.
Thank you all for your previous comments.  I appreciate them.

  5. The way you have created the corn stacks is fabulous. Your knife work is really great. Be patient. You will be fine. Your arm will be as good as new!! Probable painting itself might be a therapy. Anything that gives you pleasure and peace contributes to the healing process.

  7. Wow, such an amazing work on the corn, and I love the subject. Can't help thinking that maybe if we had all been Amish, the world would be a better place now.

Bravo !

    Je t'embrasse affectueusement,
    Gros bisous ♡

  11. Dear Hilda, I am happy to read you are recovering and happy to see your beautiful work here again. This does remind me so much of PA. We visited an Amish town while my in-laws lived in Phili a few years ago. I took photo after photo of the rolling farms. It was so peaceful there.

Your work really is so beautiful.

Bueno, un magnífico óleo a pesar de las dificultades. Te felicito!

  51. This is such a beautiful painting Hilda! I have never painted a horse, but it looks daunting to do it well, and your two horses are amazing! I love the composition, and your palette knife corn in the wagon has wonderful texture. I didn't know that you had surgery. I hope that you are well on your way to a full recovery.
