BREE
I've been away for awhile because I bought a new computer and up to this moment, I'm not sure how I got to this point so I'll continue before it goes away.. LOL. My daughter showed me this picture of her friend's little girl and I fell in love with the photo and needed to paint her. She had such a natural expression on her beautiful face and of course I loved her hat.! ! Last night I returned from vacationing in Arizona and I took so many wonderful photos. If you have never visited the "Skywalk" on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.. please add it to your bucket list.!!!

So Hilda - you come back in STYLE! The is a marvelous and interesting painting. Interesting because of the details you have done so well...polka dots, hat trim and straw, and marvelous for the portrait part. She is so sweet and natural. You must be thrilled with it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time. I will remember to add the Skywalk.
thank you for your generous comment, Julie! I enjoyed painting Bree...and I always love travelling to the West! Arizona is a beautiful State.
DeleteGorgeous little girl with such a sweet expression. Love how you did the hat, looks so real ! The 'Skywalk' must be quite something, I can feel the small hairs on my back rising, I think my fear of hights would get the best of me :-)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, JANE! thank you for stopping by and commenting on Bree.. I'm so happy you like her. The Skywalk was definitely something I never felt I would visit because I, as well, don't like heights.. I found myself holding on to the railings like that would help!!! LOL Looking down and seeing the Canyon was amazing.
DeleteYou are so good at painting portraits, Hilda. This little girl is adorable in her sun dress and hat! Beautiful work as always! So glad you got to see the Grand Canyon. When I was in my 20's a friend and I hiked to the bottom and camped overnight. I was surprised to see so many green trees there along the river. I couldn't do that hike today haha! It took 9 hours to hike back up the next day!
ReplyDeletethank you so much, Theresa for such a generous comment! I appreciate it!! My husband wanted to ride the mule down the canyon.. I told him he really should go by himself because I feel that with my luck the mule would lose his step and fall down the canyon with me on it... I'm sure it's beautiful down there and wish I had gone years ago!!!
DeleteI can see why you wanted to paint this portrait. She's so cute in her little hat. You did a great job!
