I took a picture of my granddaughter
at her dance recital which inspired
this pastel painting. I struggled with
getting her to look her age. The makeup
she had on and the fact that her hair was
pulled up didn't help much either. She's
only 10 but looks 16! I like the painting
but I'm ready for your input!

Very beautiful, Hilda. And such a lovely name, too.

P.S. I've started our project....:)
Love the body language that you caught here, she definitely looks a ten year old kid to me,, lovely, very lovely Hilda!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet, Hilda. Your color choices are so perfect for the subject matter. I think you managed her make-up well; she doesn't look "overdone" and what a beautiful grand-daughter you have!
ReplyDeleteJ'aime beaucoup l'attitude de votre petite-fille. Elle est pleine de grâce. Vous avez capturé magnifiquement bien ce qui plaît, son charme, sa délicatesse et sa finesse.
ReplyDeleteGros bisous.
Beautiful work Hilda. Love it. She is a very pretty girl.
ReplyDeleteGreat Job.
Hilda, she's beautiful. So elegant and you haven't made her look to old for her age. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteTienes una nieta muy hermosa, seguramente la más guapa del mundo, como sucede con la mía y con todos los abuelos. Has capturado la pose y su expresión. ¡Una pintura genial!. Me encanta.
ReplyDeleteYou have a very beautiful granddaughter, probably the most beautiful in the world, as it happens with mine, and all grandparents they have one. You captured the pose and her expression. Great painting!, I love it.
Hilda, a beautiful treasure for Skye to have when she's older. I think you did a fabulous job. My little princess had to wear makeup for her first recital this year - she was five! Sad the producers feel it's needed.
