I did this oil painting of St.Mary Lake in Glacier National Park, Montana. It lies on the eastern side of Glacier National Park. We couldn't believe how beautiful this lake was. Great place to visit with lots of hiking trails!!
It is a very beautiful painting, Hilda. These blues are wonderful, I love it. Makes me dream that I am on a path along the lake enjoying the peace that transmits your painting. Congrats!
Hi, Hilda, Wow, so beautiful. The work gives me calm & freshness. Again, you have wonderful eyes to find a good subject. Please keep up!! Cheers, Sadami
You are a natural born oil painter Hilda! Is that your third oil painting? Wonderful! I love the beautiful sense of serenity and depth you captured, and the light glowing in the clouds. Great job!
Thank you so much GWEN for your nice comment. Lake Mary was so beautiful..So much blue all around that it almost blended into one another. It took my breath away!!
Thank you CLAIRE for your comments. This is my third oil and I really like it..never thought I would ..I was always afraid of it. It's so different from pastels..very creamy but I love pastels as well...in fact, I'm working on one now.
Hilda, when I first saw this, I found myself taking a nice deep breath and saying a silent "ahhhhh." You have given it such a peaceful feeling; it's very nice and your reflections are very well done.
Hilda, felicidades por este óleo. Ya no hay secretos para tí. Tanto el pastel como ahora el oleo, te quedan perfectos. Has probado la acuarela? Un abrazo.
Gracias JOSH..lo agradezco mucho tu visita y tu commentario..si, has probado y no puedo pintar con las acuarela. Pero me encanta mirar las acuarelas que tu pintas!!!
My name is Hilda Muxo Klinger. My passion for art came early.I have always said that I was born with a pencil in one hand and a box of crayons in the other.I am a Bronx born New Yorker who can remember sitting at the kitchen table copying faces that appeared in the newspapers and magazines as a girl.
I am married 53 years and have two daughters and five amazing grandchildren. While I worked and raised my family in East Rockaway, I used art as a form of relaxation, painting here and there. I dabbled with several artistic mediums through the years—everything from pencil to charcoal to oil and it was only after I joined The Parish Social Ministry Art Club in East Rockaway in 2006 that I realized my true passion of pastels.
I studied under Dan Slapo and I don't think I've ever enjoyed a class more than I did with him. He taught me many different techniques in painting a portrait. Working with a live model was so different for me and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to work with this Master of Pastels...He encouraged me to join the Pastel Society and I am now an Associate Member . I am thrilled to say that I have displayed my paintings in Rockville Center Village Art Club and have received several ribbons for my work. Thank you for visiting my blog. I will continue to add my painting in the future and hope you enjoy them as I have enjoyed painting them.
Really, really super.
ReplyDeleteI worked in Montana as a travel nurse. My favorite place is Two Medicine. I miss it
ReplyDeleteMaravilloso, puedo ver la grandeza del paisaje y su soledad. El color azul hace que sienta la frialdad del entorno.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, I can see the grandeur of the scenery and its loneliness. The blue color makes me feel the coldness of the surroundings.
Simple but beautiful - love the reflections on the water
