View from window

This was a Christmas commission that I never posted.   A sweet little cat looking out of her window... I enjoyed painting this … I thought the sun catcher was fun to paint.
I hope you are all doing well in this nightmare that we're living in.  At first, I kept myself very busy with painting, cleaning but now I have become a couch potato .. something I never wanted to be. lol
In February, I lost my dog, Cali.  She died in her sleep and it left me heartbroken.  She was only 8 and healthy so it was a total shock when she died right in front of me.   I have never been without a pet so I'm fostering a chihuahua/dachshund who I named Bambi. She's 9 lbs.   The shelters are full so I helped with one! lol.  She keeps me busy now and happy.  Yes, I will be adopting her soon.
STAY WELL, MY FRIENDS

  2. Sympathies for the loss of Cali
Your painting, the cat's face and the sun catcher create an interesting scene with the sunlight on the draperies, as the cat and a butterfly are playing in fresh spring air.

  3. Hilda, I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved Cali - so unexpected & yes, so heartbreaking. We lost our Cobie last month, too. It's good to hear that Bambi wiggled her way into your heart. You are lucky to have each other & I hope you two will have some amazing adventures together:)
And your collector must be thrilled with that painting! It's just beautiful!

    1. Thank you so much Jane. Yes, losing a pet is like losing a family member. She was always so faithful. I decided to foster Bambi but she turned out to be a very loving dog.. I have always had a pet in my house so not having one even for a week was too sad.... hugs..

    1. Thank you Julie. It means a lot to me that you like this painting. Cali will be terribly missed but Bambi is filling that emptiness in the house. So many people have told me that Bambi was sent here by Cali. I feel that way as well since she has so many of her traits. And yes, God is Good!!!
Take care, my friend and stay safe...

  7. I love this one! At first I thought you'd just painted the suncatcher and that the photograph was of a real cat in a real window showing where the suncatcher hangs now!
Lucky little Bambi. I hope she fills your heart.
And I think we all just have to give ourselves a bit of a break for our couch potato-ness these days.
    Stay well!
