I love painting my grandkids... Having so many reference photos around, makes it easy to find one to paint. I painted this a few years back and forgot to post it.
I painted Sierra with my Rembrandt and my Terry Ludwig pastels. I hope you like her.
Thank you so much Sue for stopping by to comment. She has beautiful hair and I thought by blending it in the background and adding highlights would be perfect. Have a wonderful day!!
Hello Hilda!:) Your granddaughter has a pretty name, as well as a pretty face. I don't think I have heard the name Sierra before. Lovely pose, and portrait Hilda. I like the blue shoulder, and hair tendrils against the dark background. Have a happy weekend! Take Care!:)
Thank you Sonjia. At first, I didn't like her name, but it grows on you..just like her sisters name Skye.lol. I'm so happy you liked her... Enjoy this beautiful day!!

Hi John....I've been having so much problems visiting your blog and my Nephew was able to help me get into it. Your work is amazing...looking forward to seeing more of your pen and ink pieces!!!!
My name is Hilda Muxo Klinger. My passion for art came early.I have always said that I was born with a pencil in one hand and a box of crayons in the other.I am a Bronx born New Yorker who can remember sitting at the kitchen table copying faces that appeared in the newspapers and magazines as a girl.
I am married 53 years and have two daughters and five amazing grandchildren. While I worked and raised my family in East Rockaway, I used art as a form of relaxation, painting here and there. I dabbled with several artistic mediums through the years—everything from pencil to charcoal to oil and it was only after I joined The Parish Social Ministry Art Club in East Rockaway in 2006 that I realized my true passion of pastels.
I studied under Dan Slapo and I don't think I've ever enjoyed a class more than I did with him. He taught me many different techniques in painting a portrait. Working with a live model was so different for me and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to work with this Master of Pastels...He encouraged me to join the Pastel Society and I am now an Associate Member . I am thrilled to say that I have displayed my paintings in Rockville Center Village Art Club and have received several ribbons for my work. Thank you for visiting my blog. I will continue to add my painting in the future and hope you enjoy them as I have enjoyed painting them.
Fantastic portrait, so nice to see a non-conventional pose. You really captured more than the image, there's a lot character as well. Brilliant1
