Tangerine still life

I don't do too many still life paintings but I needed a change, so I decided to try one again.  I actually enjoyed painting this but would have loved to have painted it looser.  The only problem is that I have no idea how to paint looser..lol  I painted this with sanded paper which I'm enjoying more and more because it's the perfect paper for texture.  Now that my daughter is recuperating so beautifully, I can concentrate so much better on my Art.

  3. I am with you on the controlled approach. Always too much detail I think too, it it is what it is. Beautiful work on the white with all the embedded colors. Should be more still life's in your future

  4. This is simply beautiful, Hilda. It shows that you enjoyed doing it.
Some things should NOT be painted looser. These items have grace, and that is how you treated them. They are not stiff at all.
I especially love the way you did the design on the vase and picked up the reflective color from the oranges on the other one.
That is such good news about your daughter.Yea!

  5. Hello Hilda!:) It's very skilfully done, and I agree with Julie on the treatment of the still life objects you chose. The finished Still Life is beautiful Hilda. If you had chosen a more rustic looking vase and tureen, then another approach might have been fun to try. Have a good day!:)

  10. This is truly beautiful, Hilda. The shadows on the white ceramic pieces are perfect, and the fruit looks so life-like. Very classical looking. Your design on the tall, white vase is worked with such fine lines. That is not easy in pastel, but you certainly have mastered that! You are such a wonderful artist!

  16. Lovely work Hilda. Sandpaper is hard on the fingertips if, like me, you are used to 'finger blending' pastels! Glad to hear your daughter is recovering well. Suex

  18. This is lovely, Hilda! If you want to paint looser, you have to squint a lot.

So happy to hear your daughter has recovered.

  22. A GREAT SPELL CASTER (DR. EMU) THAT HELP ME BRING BACK MY EX GIRLFRIEND.
Am so happy to testify about a great spell caster that helped me when all hope was lost for me to unite with my ex-girlfriend that I love so much. I had a girlfriend that love me so much but something terrible happen to our relationship one afternoon when her friend that was always trying to get to me was trying to force me to make love to her just because she was been jealous of her friend that i was dating and on the scene my girlfriend just walk in and she thought we had something special doing together, i tried to explain things to her that her friend always do this whenever she is not with me and i always refuse her but i never told her because i did not want the both of them to be enemies to each other but she never believed me. She broke up with me and I tried times without numbers to make her believe me but she never believed me until one day i heard about the DR. EMU and I emailed him and he replied to me so kindly and helped me get back my lovely relationship that was already gone for two months.
