Hats for sale

When I was in Manhattan in front of the Whitney Museum, I saw a street vendor with an incredible amount of hats for sale!  I thought it would be interesting to paint...As I got into it I realized it wasn't an easy piece ...however, I really enjoyed painting this.  Every hat seemed to have a different color and just the right amount of light hitting them.  Again, a little different?

  7. A "community" of hats makes a stunning composition, Hilda! Each hat is painted so well, but as a whole these hats make a wonderful design with the brims and hat bands! Kudos to you!

  8. I think someone is feeling much better and we are so glad. What a terrific subject. Isn't it odd how some of the more simple subjects are actually the most difficult. Love all the overlaps and the colors and values in this piece. You handled it so well. Nice work Hilda.

    gros bisous
