I did this pastel portrait of this little girl enjoying the animals in the zoo the same day that I took the reference picture for my "China Doll" (back in March).... She was in a stroller next to her... so maybe they were sisters?. I loved her face and her pretty pink angora sweater. I enjoy watching children enjoying the day!! Their faces are always full of amazement. Priceless in my eyes!!

Hilda, your portraits are so elegant--you really know how to make skin tones glow. I am in awe. Your paintings have a very serene air to them. Lovely.
ReplyDeletethank you so much LINDA! You're very kind..
Deleteand it's funny but I love your portraits...very artsy.. something I've tried but always lands up tight! but that's the wonderful thing about all the bloggers here..we all paint differently from one another...and I enjoy it all!!! Glad you stopped by!!
The eyes of the little girl charmed by animals are so tender ... a mirror of all the emotions that children give to those who observe and receive their vitality, as a precious gift. A Japanese proverb says that when we look at the children we look at our future. I look at a beautiful future, admiring your wonderful portrait.
ReplyDeletethank you so much RITA! Such a nice comment.. I appreciate it!! I do love painting children...I especially enjoy looking at their faces when they visit the zoo . I always wonder what they're thinking when they see these animals.
DeleteI feel the curiosity, amuse in her eyes that is definitely priceless, yes, I would have watched her and enjoyed what was going on in her little mind than the animal. Lovely work Hilda!
ReplyDeletethank you so much PADMAJA for stopping by to comment...you're very kind! Enjoy the rest of the Evening...
