The Lower Falls in Yellowstone

The Lower Falls in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.. In my eyes one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the USA.  The Yellowstone River tumbles 308ft to the Canyon floor creating this amazing foam..  It was very difficult capturing the true beauty of this place in pastels, but I enjoyed trying with every color I had..lol..

  1. You're right, Hilda - this must have been a difficult image of which to paint a landscape. [I was going to say it was a stinker, but refrained] You have done a super job with a very demanding image.

  43. Western beauty in our national parks is just jaw dropping isn't it. Like your colors, what did you use - always stuggle with getting rock color variation. Bet the falls rumble was huge with so much water coming down from such a height. Finally got warm and now you got snow again. Best to you
