This is a commission I did of a "young" Audrey Hepburn for a
Beauty Salon in Farmingville, N.Y. Audrey Hepburn was one of my all time favorite actresses who I loved so it was easy painting
her. I remember as a teenager trying my best to look like her..LOL ....It didn't work!!!

Perfect rendition Hilda, my favorite too and I still watch her movies and never get tired!
ReplyDeletethank you so much PADMAJA for stopping by and commenting...I still enjoy seeing her old movies...
DeleteYou made me laugh, Hilda. Audrey is and was a beauty. I always wanted to look like Cher. Didn't work for me either. I've been told I look like Erin Moran (Happy Days, Joanie Loves Chachi), McKenzie Phillips (American Graffiti, One Day at a Time), Lily Tomlin (Laugh In)... Of them all, I'd most have to agree with the McKenzie Phillips, but when she was young; not now. Once, on a website that you upload your photo and it pulls famous faces to whom you might share a common ancestry, I kept getting Jared Leto and Julie Christie. Go figure...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, this is a dazzling piece for a beauty salon! Oh if only they could make me look like this!!
I just saw Cher on the Today show this morning!!!..she still looks amazing!!!
Deletethank you SHERRY for stopping by and commenting.. I'm so happy that the owners of the Salon was very pleased with the painting!
Hi, Hilda, Wow, your hero and congrats on your commissioned work. Really a lovely work. Particularly, the angle is interesting. Me, too, like Audry. I hope your work will make a client and the salon's customers happy.

I remember I had two idols when I was a teenager. Marylin Monroe and Dolly Parton, lol!
ReplyDeleteFacially I was never going to look look Marylin Monroe, though I tried my hardest for a while... and there were two very obvious differences between me and Dolly Parton, haha ;0)
This is such an amazing painting of Audrey Hepburn. The shadows are what give it that drama. Fabulous!! :0)
You just made me laugh, SANDRA! I as well liked Marilyn Monroe but to me she was her prettiest with dark hair...when she started out....so natural. and I LOVE Dolly. Thank you for your wonderful comment!!!
