Old woman in knitted hat

I didn't know what to paint for the "moment" ,  so I went to Morguefile.com and found this lady's face that "called" me so I had to paint her..I loved all of her "life" lines that seem to have many stories behind them.  I really like this website,  but they only supply the picture..and I always love to know the story behind the face.  I
loved the vibrant colors in this piece as well...

  26. Un rostro luminoso, ha logrado captar algo indefinido, recuerdos, imágenes cruzando por la mente de esta mujer anciana, una obra con alma (que es lo que mas me interesa en el arte)
También hay que destacar la paciente definición del gorro de lana.

  78. Hi Hilda
Sorry was on holiday for a few weeks and missed lots of Blog Posts.
I recognise this lady. I drew her in CPS back in 2007/8 and she won me a Reserve Best in Show award at the UKCPS exhibition in 2008. The picture is on the right side of my Home Page on my Blog.

Like you I was drawn to the character in her face.

At that time the UKCPS permitted drawings based on photos taken by other other people (with permission). Now all ref. photos must be taken by the artist so I don't visit Morgue. file so often.

Love your rendition of this lovely lady.

  79. thank you so much SUE for your wonderful comment. I appreciate you stopping by. I was told by Morguefile.com that we can take the photos...but we can't take the photo and sell it...and like you said now we can't show it in shows....I need to make friends with a photographer!!! LOL I will be stopping by your blog to see the painting!!! Enjoy the rest of the Evening...
