When I visited my friend, Josephine, she showed me a picture
of her beautiful granddaughter who recently made her First Communion. I looked at Julia's face and thought it would make a
beautiful pastel painting. I realized afterwards that one of you should have painted the flowers for me..LOL. You all do such amazing jobs with florals...yet...I find it extremely difficult..I have practiced in the past and will continue to practice. I'm on a mission!!

DeleteReally lovely Hilda and the flowers look great. The focus is her face and too much detail in the flowers would take away from that so I think they are perfect.

Un fuerte abrazo.

ReplyDeletethank you TITO!! You're so nice! I appreciate you stopping by and for your comment!! Hugs!!
DeleteHow stunning is this! What gorgeous eyes she has. If you did the flowers more detailed it would have taken away from her beautiful face, You followed the principle of having only one focal point.
ReplyDeleteI love the subtle pattern on her dress and the way you did her hair with the different directions her style was done in. The delicate floral headdress has just the right amount of detail to take your eye up and around. I really think you did a fabulous job on this piece.
thank you SO much JULIE!! You just made my day with your beautiful comment! Thank you for stopping by!!
DeleteWow, you really captured her sweet little expression so well! I see nothing wrong w/the flowers, but honestly barely notice them for I was so drawn to her eyes and smile. If they were any more vivid they may have competed with her sweet face:-)
ReplyDeletethank you SO much MINNEME for your comment. She does have such beautiful eyes, even more so in person...and a sweet little girl as well. Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteUgh - don't even get me started on the difficulty of painting flowers! But you're right, that's why we gotta practice. Anyway I think the flowers here look nice, but I barely notice them because my eye goes right to her gaze and her sweet expression. This is a great painting Hilda. Good work. ♥
