Still Life - Orange

I filled this small  bowl with colorful fruits for this still life and realized that there wasn't any room left for the orange, so I put it on the outside of the bowl which looked a little better.  I haven't painted a still life for awhile so I enjoyed painting this.

    The richness of color in the plum is really powerful but then the orange seems to beg for attention, too. I really like how you added the softness to the outside of the orange to give it that "glow." It's a lovely still life!

  49. Oh Hilda, this is truly beautiful. Every different kind of fruit looks so life-like right down to the tiniest of detail. Love the reds in the grapes and the blue-violet in the plums and the beautiful bowl. And, you did well placing the orange just where you did! Makes the composition complete!!
